So,
i just got my mpd 24 on monday. Yesterday I made a firmwareupdate.
And while the mpd was recieving the syx it stopped and I got an error 10 message. and a error 73..

Now if I plug the mpd in my macbook it says that there is no firmware Update on it.

I testet the Firmware Update now with a normal PC, my macbook and another PC. And nothing worked.

I would love to play with the mpd tomorrow, so maybe someone can help me.

I also called the german akai support and they say, that I should send the mpd to them. But tomorrow the post is closed so I am going to send the mpd on friday to akai. But maybe someone can help me and I got the problem fixed.

cheers

I'm having a similiar problem. I just got the MPD and went to update tonight. My computer basically keeps shutting the Uniquest software down. Some kind of error. I can see the MPD doing something though. You see the Upgrade #, # recieving. The number keeps changing, but the transmit number on the computer never changes. Then the Uniquest software shuts down. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what is up  .

Yesterday I dit the firmware update again and now the mpd works.
But the upgrade brings on my mpd an error 10 message. Maybe I am going to send the unit back and get a knew one..

I tried the update for several hours. I got an error 10 and error 13. I called support and they are telling me to download a program called midi ox...that didn't work either. The guy is supposed to be e-mailing a firmware 1.05. I had firmware 1.04...he told me the MPD shoudln't have firmware that old on it. I should have just left it on there.....well I will try again today to get it to load. Hopefully I get the e-mail soon.

Yo just an update if you are still around on the MPD thing. I did finally get the firmware update to work. If you are still getting errors try completely deleting the files of all MPD 24 software and reloading and downloading the update and load. See if you still get an error. Once mine was done I didn't have any errors. I checked on the Global page 8 and it says v 1.07. Now all I need is a tutorial on exactly what I need to get started. As simple as it sounds, I'm not quite getting this midi concept thing. Thinking about just getting an MPC 2500 instead
