Need Help ASAP! Im new to mpc/and confused.....

Hi everyone, Im in desperate need of someone in the know to tell me if i got robbed or if im an idiot and dont know how to turn on/off an option......
my dilemma: I just bought a used 2000xl off ebay. guy said it worked great. problem is when i load any sound to any pad the note seems to stutter when I hit it firm (in the center). if i load a snare/kick/etc they all seem to play a double instead of a single sound when hit. I understand the full level versus the pressure sensitive dynamic but I literally get *DA (DA), instead of *DA when I hit a pad assigned with whatever sound - like a stuttering, or double hit of the note.
Please, please, please, someone help. if im not missing an option to turn the pads 'solid' then i believe i got taken for a ride.
anything at this point would be good advice to try.

Not sure, but you pad sensors could be malfunctioning, here is a link for replacement sensors. http://mpcstuff.com/pad-sensors-with-ri ... r-mpc.html

it does it every single time?

you're either not hitting the pad correctly which is usually the case with new mpc users

or the pads are worn and need to be replaced or dusted off inside.

I thought about the 'noob' issue but i've messed around with the 1000 and didn't seem to have this issue. Seeing as it's used, a dusting/potential replacement of pads might be what i need to do. Where can I go about this? I promise I'll get better and you'll not have to deal with such infantile posts.
