i need help sampling

i got an mpc 2000xl and a turntable connected to my mixer. my mixer is connected to my mbox which is connected to my computer. i am making beats in reason and loading the tracks into pro tools. i want to know specifically how to take a sample from a record and chop it on my mpc. any help is greatly appreciated.
