Trim Mode - anyone else have this problem

I go into trim mode, find the sample I want to trim, adjust the start point, then go to adjust the end point, but while turning the wheel, instead of just trimming the sample, the cursor just jumps to the beginning of the sample. odd. and annoying as flowers.

try holding shift and using the note variation slider when trimming instead.

using the nv slider seems like a dope idea as im still new to the xl as well and have the same problem... i figure its just a glitch in the system but it doesnt happen all the time.

Happens to me as well using this method Set the start point, go to end point. . hold shift & slide fader & BAM! **** up my start point. Doesn't happen every time, but more than once is frustrating enough.

I have to actually resort to using the wheel on the end point to avoid **** up the start point Any more ideas on this?

2000 or 2000XL?? The NV Fader function is only implemented in the 2000XL.

try moving the slider to the end point position before pressing shift. now when u press shift, the end point should be all the way at the end of the sample instead of all the way at the beginning. get me?

Not quite Moving the slider without pressing Shift won't move anything I thought ? I will try that next chance though, thanks for the suggestion bro Peace

Not quite Moving the slider without pressing Shift won't move anything I thought ?

No it doesn't. But the slider functions in "absolute" mode when used for trimming, meaning the trim position will jump to whatever position the slider is in as soon as you press shift and slightly move the slider. Which makes it pretty hard to use in my opinion.

But another thing is, if your slider is very worn or dirty, it can produce random signals, and as soon as you press Shift (e.g. for moving the cursor to 10th or 100th increments if you work with the cursor), the position suddenly jumps around erratically, without you even touching the slider. Gave me a hard time to figure that out a while ago...
