Issues with re-installing floppy for OS upgrade HELP!

Hello. I have a MPC2000XL. I understand I need to upgrade OS to 1.20 in order to install a CF card reader. Problem is I only have a SCSI HD in there (which is getting seriously old and unreliable) and I have no computer that will accept it. So i need to get floppy working in order to install the OS. I have tried two different Floppy disk stations. My MPC will accept neither even though it is (i believe) the right type. The ones that are not supposed to have a "twirl" on the cable. "Type B" or something. Also the power cable to the floppy has been modified so it only has red and black cable (it was like that when I got it, bought it used). I have tried both modified and unmodified cable. All jumper settings. I've even tried putting the cable in both ways (it's the old type without a locator pin).

Does anyone know how to go about this? I would really appreciate all help.

Hey, c'mon guys. I know SOME of you must know something about this. I'm really in a pinch here.

Man I had problems with mine I tried to install a card reader! I took out my floppy drive got a card reader from mpc stuff.com. He had to send me the 1.2 os version but I made a mistake and bought a flash card from Vst.services.com non compatible. When I tried to get a card from mpc stuff.com paypal wouldn't let me. SanDisk 1 gb for mpc they have them much cheaper on the internet you'll pay three times as much with mpc stuff.com

It's not the floppies, it's the disk drives. My MPC wont even start up with a disk drive in it.
