Is it possible to remove the sound out of a sample????

Basically I want to know is it possible to remove the background music in a sampled phrase? I got a song I am sampling but the beat in the background does not blend in with my beat well so is it possible to somehow remove the background beat???? Any help is greatly appreciated.

not really. sometimes you can depending on the type of sounds in the sample or if the sounds you want to separate are hard panned.

if its percussion that is the issue you should just change your drum pattern to match the pattern already in the sample. why mess with perfection.

Its not possible. Once its been two-tracked/mixed, its a done deal. You can mess with EQing and Filtering, removing high and/or low end frequency(depending on what you are trying to achieve). Then you can overdub the sample with interpolation of the melody to help bring it back out more. Just my technique, some may have other ways.

I've removed somethings that I wasn't suppose to be able to remove from two track recordings before using Adobe Auditions spectral tool, but admittedly it was a pain in the @ss...

Try a sample editor like Audition, Sound Forge, WaveLab, something with a spectral tool.
