Need a quick reference on internal memory! lol

Whats up, odd-ball question, but Im at work and I got Guitar Center on hold(they can wait lol). I bought a 2000xl from their Colorado location and having them ship it here, but the dude on the phone doesnt know how to find the available memory and Im not in front of it and cant remember off the top of my head... if you got a manual or know off the top, help me out!!!! lol

Shift+Sample and turn the dial on the seconds all the way up to as many seconds as it will go if it's fully expanded it will say 189 seconds.

Dont need to make things complicate. Hit shift+Sample and then the open window button. The display tell you exactly how many megabytes are installed

The guy said that it showed 100, does that mean that it needs the memory upgrade. How much would it show(sample time) if it didnt have the upgrade?

i think it comes with 2mb and it sounds like he has 16mb,,,,i might be wrong though as im not positive!!

No sweat, I'll just wait for it to get here from Colorado. I just wanted to order all upgrades/accessories so that they would arrive around the same time as the MP. Blackpads and internal card reader are on the way, I'll just have to wait and see what the memory is looking like.

first mpc???how much was it?? what extras does it come with,if any?? sounds like you know what you want..

memory is dirt cheap anymore by the way,..does it just have floppy for now??

Naw, its not my first. I owned a Orange SE in 2006 and then sold that for a blown out 1000. Ran into financial trouble, sold the 1000 about a 2 years ago. Now I got another Orange SE coming in from Guitar Center in Colorado(I live in DC), for $599(has 8 outs but needs card reader(has zip currently) and (may) need memory upgrade.

They have some CRAZY shit on sale. http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm I went through the Guitar Center in my area for the purchase and shipping, that way I can just deal with my local shop if I have any discrepencies or questions.(and by buying from GC, the MPC still comes with a 30 day guarantee, unlike buying it used from some shmoe off the street)

asking anybody at guitar center about samplers is a pain in the ass. they don't know anything about hardware based stuff.

everytime i went to to play with the mp's they'd come up to me and ask if i need help but then didn't know anything about the mp. they'd be like "ya uh im not sure, most people use software nowadays. you should try reason or pro tools" lmao get outta my face with that bs.

No bullshit!!!!! But you know whats even funnier... the GC employee with the most knowledge and expertise "supposedly".. has the wackest beats! The other day I was in there and this cat was like, "yeah you need to get this motif, its industry standard.. blah blah blah". So I said oh thats whats up.. you got any of your stuff so I can hear? He played a beat cd of his in the DJ room... I smiled after a minute or so and changed the subject asking him how much that smoke/light machine was cause it was 10x's doper and more entertaining then that trash coming out the speakers.

I did that and found out I have 32MB RAM.

That's funny as hell lol. The funny thing is that some of these guys at Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc. usually don't know their a$$ from their elbow when it comes to equipment because they're usually not beat makers to begin with. This one guy played something for me at Sam Ash on an MPC to give me an example of what can be done and I told him that if someone played a beat like that for me in the studio for me to spit on I'd suggest they just burn the studio down and forget it ever existed! LOL
