Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

alright, i'm have trouble. i trasfered sounds from my computer on to zip disk for the first time and when i started the mpc with the disk in it, my sounds usually just load right up. but i had to do it one by one this time and when i did, it only let me load a few sounds before i "ran out of memory." it only allows 1900 kb of sounds. is this thing really that limited. i've got to be doing something wrong. how do people get so many sounds on this thing.
i have the 2000xl by the way.
thanks. this is frustrating

propably you have to buy more memory to your MPC, MPC 2K can handle memory up to 32 MB, so it's enough to do a lot.

but what could be using so much memory. it doesn't sound right to me

How many samples did you load? Loops or drumhits?
2 mb is not that much if you need to load a few 8 bar loops.....But it's enough for almost a full bank of drumsounds.

But there's really no excuse for not upgrading your RAM to 32 mb. It's cheap and not that complicated.

Are your samples in stereo that takes double the memory and space on disk?

yo u really need to buy the 32 mbs. bass tones alone will eat up tons of space. ram is like 10 to 20 bills on ebay.

Sample your bass in mono. Saves memory and the bass sound is deeper in mono.
