another compact flash problem

ok mpc pros i need help. ok i have the blue mcd 2000xl and recently bought a 2g.b type II cf card at staples and tried to save a beat but nothing. Does anyone know what im doing wrong? Is it to many g.b? I tried to format the card and it says this will erase whole disk. Does anyone know what i should be doing. And also on that same cf card can i save my samples and beats on it or do i need to save on two different cf cards?

you need to format before you can use the card...

what card reader???internal,external..
xl can only read up to 1 gb unless you partition a card in wich you will be only able to use that 2gb as a 1 gb..

well i tried to erase the whole disk and nothing happened. I tried to format it on the mpc, and it is a internal not external

u need a 1gb. its something in the xl.

r u using a drive on your computer also?

no i dont even have a computer hooked up to the the mp. Yea i was thinking i might need the 1 gb but i heard a 2 gb can be used also and most these damn computer shops dont even have a 1 gb only 2 and 4 and better thats wack

I just read a bunch of old posts on this and it seems everybody has different answers some people it works some it doesnt but if there is anybody out there been through this i would appreciate it
