We already sell a CF-based "hard" drive - it's called the SSD and it is available in 1,2,4 and 8GB versions. But as Lampdog pointed out, you have to be running 1.14 in order to access more than 1GB of any SCSI drive.

And Lampdog is also right about people seeing big storage drives and going gaa-gaa - just look at those dudes on eBay selling 181GB drives for the Akai MPC2000 and MPC2000XL! And I'll wager they sell a good many of them to people who later go "wtf, only 1GB?". Of course, those same people have gone deaf because those drives sound like a 747 landing in your living room.

We have been concentrating lately on providing low-noise or no-noise storage solutions, because that is what musicians want. Nothing worse than trying to create music and your SCSI drive sounds like a wind tunnel.

Isn't that the same one that a couple of people showed here already for like $5? Price-wise it sure beats the hell out of these...

So true! Can you imagine. Back when I startet to become a gearslut I had the E64 Sampler with built in HD and there was also the fan of the PowerSupply and beside that sampler was an Atari Mega STE also with HD and fan. I really dont know how I heard any of the music in that room.
