newbie help ! ! !

I recently purchased a mpc2xl and have so far managed to sample some breaks, zone em and assigned them to different pads, so far - so good...how do I layer other sounds from another program over the top of the existing break that I created ? I assume this is where the sequencer
option comes in?

Have you created a loop yet? There are some basic functions you may want to run down before you jump in too deep. Check out the tutorials and faqs. They're extremely helpful.
