problem with speakers?

i got my speakers which have RCA plugs with an adapter hooked into the stereo outputs but am getting no sound.

your speakers might need some kind of amplifier

i have to JBL studio monitors, they run together, the white RCA goes in one and the red RCA goes in the other, and they both have a power supply any idea on hookin them up to work. they worked without a mixer when i had them running through my yamaha work station

Can you be a little bit more specific please?
What outputs and cables were you using with your previous setup (when it still worked). Try if that still works.

I assume you're wanting to use the mpc's stereo output without a mixer now.
Are you sure you're using a stereo-jack, not a mono (they look the same).
Have you tried using the L/R outputs?
