what to sample?

hey, i have made just about every beat possible with the sounds that came with the mpc and some others that i bought, what kind of cd player do you need to sample, or is there anything i can use around the house like a cd player to sample something

You can use any cd-player/ Turntabel/ tapedeck/ MD-Player etc. to sample from. You just have to connect it with the right cable or thru a mixer with your MPC-Record in.

I agree with florian77, you can use any cd player to sample. With the MPC you can sample from anything, cd player, vcr, dvd player, tape player, record player, anything with input and output.

Connect your MPC's Audio IN to your Sound Card's audio out and download a bunch of demo Audio Applications and sample, sample, sample.

Yup. Personally, i don't think's it's dope to get sounds from "www.Blazin-commercial-hiphop-drumz-boyee.com"

or whatever..... i've been diggin' for years now and probably have more samples than i could ever use.

Digging for wax is the only way to get dope music. Plus youll learn a lot about music in the mean time, and get ideas.... Im getting tired of "producers" who dont know a thing about music... getting sound packages is easy, but tweak those sounds man!

Heads wanna make beats, but aren't aware of the roots. There were breaks before "Cool Rap Drumz Fo Yo Ass Vol. 1" believe it or not.
At least do a little digging to save some face... lol

My rule

Sample anything.
Good source is drum machines
keyboards
cd's
vinyl
tape
vcr's
dvd's
yourself on a mic
recordings of stuff outside.

Download anything.
Tons of stuff online for free.

Buy anything.
Nothing wrong with buying drums.
