MPC outputs: line output or instrument output?

Hi,

I have the separate outputs card for my mpc2000XL by Mutec and I was wondering if anyone could tell me wether those are line outputs or instrument outputs?

I've looked around quiet a bit but without any luck.

I need to start recording but I want to make sure that if they are instr. outputs, I need to use the instr. inputs on a mic-preamp and don't connect the outputs directly to the inputs of my soundcard.

I hope someone will be able to give an answer as I really need to get the best possible sound...

but then, in case i don't have enough level on an output (eg. sample recorded with a poor level) then i'll have to use a preamp that accepts line level, right?

i'd try to resample first . . . you avoid problems down the line by getting the best quality sound from the get go . . . but even then - once you get the sound into the computer you can up the volume from there . .. theres any number of ways to do it....
