Your right coocoo.... The Triton has to be in sequence mode and then you set up your midi tracks. You also need to set the midi to Bth so that you can use the MPC as the Master (sequencer).
The easiest way to pick your patches for each channel can be done by doing the following:
1) Push the Sequence button
2) Go to Prog 8 or Prog 16 (those are the choices along the bottom)
3) when in Prog 8 or 16 go to each individual channel and pick your patches by selecting the Category button.
* The category button will allow you to pick from a menu of patches. The Category button is beside audition.
This will definitely work if done right. Thats how i use the Triton for up to 16 tracks/sounds.
