Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I've been trying to play loop my midi keyboard into the 2000 over a beat and it just wont record. I can only get the keyboard sounds to play on the pads. How do I setup the midi channels in order to have it loop during an overdub, please help me someone.

If you can only play the keyboard on the pads that means the MPC is sending but isn't recieving performace information(MIDI) from the keyboard. How many MIDI cables do you have connected and where?

That would allow you to sequence the keyboard from the MPC, correct, but you wouldn't be able to play your performances on the keyboard's keys, and that's already the problem he's having so you are wrong.

Yes and dont forget to set the Track you want to record your keyboard data from DRUM to MIDI. If you dont do that you will trigger the samples of the MPC. You probably also need to set the MIDI THRU function of the MPC to OFF.
