Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

so my question is this...i have a break that i chopped using zones...i have saved these sounds on a disk, i noticed that not only are the zone samples on it, but the whole break as well...to save space on this disc if i get rid of the main break that i sampled from a record would that delete the sounds of the "zoned" chops that i did? in other words, if i delete the file that i zoned each hit from, will my individual hits still have sounds? thanks

Make a copy of everything so you don't lose anything.

Try it and find out so that you can teach yourself about your machine.

It's safe to delete the main sample from disk, the zoned slices will remain on the disk as separate samples.
