Trouble loading sequences and songs!!

I just bought the MPC2000xl about 2 months ago and i have been saving my samples on zip disks. I am currently unable to keep my sequences and songs because every time i save a sequence or song on a disk i try to load it after i turn my MPC off and no sound will play. It will load if i keep the mpc on but when i turn it off it wont play. Am I saving it right? Should I buy a cd-rom drive? Help please!

haha u need to save 2 diff files. the all seqs and songs (*.ALL) and the All Programs With Soundd (*.APS)



2 files u got to save. Then load both It helps to make new folders for every song. saves a lot of clutter.

Don't worry. It is the usual newbie mistake. Even if you have made just one sequence playing just one sample you need to save two different things...the sequence & the program.... to get everything to re-load another time.

saving is a 3 step process

and if you alter any sample and you want to save the alter-REPLACE WITH SAME SOUNDS YES!

when it comes to saving, I'm thorough. And i make program changes or may start a new program in the middle of the last because I've decided to take the work in another direction. I back everything up!
