Can I slice more than one sample in a sequence? MPC 2000xl

First of all, Thanks Lampdog for the info for my last issue. This is my problem. I know how to slice a sample and assign the slices to the 16 pads on pad bank A (create program function), and play those sliced pieces to create a sequence. I would like to know if i can slice another sample and assign it to pads 1 thru 16 on pad bank B. Is this possible on the XL? if it is tell a brother how its done. I have tried it with no success. Help a brother out.

Just because you slice to 16 sounds the Program you created is already 64 pads big.

Slice and create another program with a different name. The 2kxl will automatically push the previous program that is on DRUM1 to DRUM2 (I've always hated that but no way around it, it's GOING to happen, lol) and your newly created programs automatically go into DRUM1. So what you do is reassign your previous program BACK to DRUM1 and the new program to DRUM2 and you'll be all set. If you DONT do this your seqeuence that you recorded before will still play but it will use the new slices and won't sound correct at all.

2kxl can actively access 4 programs, 2k classic can only actively access 1 ie, DRUM1, DRUM2, DRUM3 and DRUM4.
2kxl can hold 24 programs in memory but you can only assign 4 at a time to be played on the pads.

You know about DRUM right? If not, hit the manual big dog. Later.

Maximum 256 samples all active at one time inside the 2kxl is possible if you use 4 programs assigned to 4 DRUMS and all pads assigned, but you knew that right?
