Ok, don't panic - while the mpcs are not the newest technology - there are a lot of outlets for spare parts.
I've owned a few mpcs but am not an expert - having said that check
www.mpcstuff.com. You'll see a lot of parts available and they're generally quite helpful - so it may be worth sending a quick email beforehand.
If you are an electrician - there are some people here who have the service manual for the mpc 1000 (Im sure I've seen it mentioned a few times) so you may want to have a try at fixing the issue yourself. But it does sound like a fuse so hopefully, won't put you too much out of pocket. At worst you'll have to wait a couple of weeks before getting to use it again.
