MPC 2000xl to daw software??

Yo! I wanna record my tracks separately into Ableton, or whatever daw software program.

Midi cable from MPC to MIDI interface, from interface to PC with USB. Is that all i would need?

Or is there something more to it? PLEASE help...

An Audio Interface? My MPC only have 2 outs so do I have to record one track at a time into the program?

yeah i'm not sure bout that i think theres a interface with both but yeah you would need one for the midi and one for audio....someone can recommend agood soundcard for that. i dont use a comp to often to do my music

the cheap way, if you DAW can read your PCs audio. plus two rca to 1/4 adapters

i think cowboy is on track with the non-interface route. that is simply sending your sounds from your MPC to your computer raw. thats an easy and simple way to do it, but the quality might not be too good. id say find an interface. i think you're confused between midi interface and an audio interface. now, most of them have both features so we tend to call them audio/midi interface [peeps can totally correct me on this because im not completely sure]. for now you just need 2 inputs, so first and foremost you will need an audio interface. this thing lets your external instruments - mpc2kxl, guitar, piano, synth etc.. talk/record into your computer. look at the link lampdog posted. that will be your guide to glory.

If you're going to use a cable like the one cowboy posted you won't need an interface.You can record using the line in or mic line on your soundcard.Although tracking a beat one or two tracks is going to be a pain in the azz.I suggest the 8 outs.Trust me.......it will make life a WHOLE LOT easier.(With the right interface of course)
