it's fun to use i suppose... but it isn't as good as people claim for the purpose they say it fulfills. It can be tough to pull off for some samples, you gotta get the sample's length right (cant be too long but it cant be very short also) and then it is hit or miss. sometimes you can get some neat sounds out of it. definately an awesome ability of the machine, but I wouldn't call it "autochop for the 2000 classic" and not just because it is far from automatic.

try it with some string sections samples... some classical stuff. something with not much loop points in it so it sounds more like a different cut all together. basically the technique starts the sample later on in the waveform depending on the pad you push...

thanks for the tip i got many classical records and i was thinking to try to sample somthing like that...

I use my MPC2K Daily However, I have tried that same technique that they call autochop with the Velocity. I would not call it autochop because these are not perfect chops, Instead the MPC2K will give you snippets of chops, but if you want perfect chop according to having the chops seperate then do it manually. If you want perfect chops from your MPC2K you have to chop your own individual chop manually. I love how the MPC2XL Chops very on point and exact. I wonder if samples recorded into the MPC2K can be choped automatically like how the MPC2XL chops just how chops Should be choped. I wonder if their is a way to get the MPC2K to chop like the MPC2KXL?
