i've just been learning to control some software apps with my 2k with midi.

my problem is i can can only get the programs to recognize the pads in midi note map. i can't get the note slider to control parameters.

is this just the way it is? no slides or knobs for midi control, just the pads? or is there something im missing to get the note slider to work? id be fine with just one parameter knob, but not having one seems a bit limiting....

...come to think of it i just thought of this while i was writing (not in front of my gear to try it but i may have answered my own question). . . maybe i have to select to control a parameter with a pad - and then select the note slider to affect the pad? Oooooh - that sounds like it would work!

hit me back with your thoughts....

Hang on..... are you wanting to use the note variation slider as a midi controller for your software? I'm sure that fader doesn't transmit midi but only does things internally. However, most modern synths & controller keyboards allow you to program things like the modulation wheel to send different midi controller data to other instruments, or you can get those units that are just a bank of freely assignable faders or knobs.

the NV slider doesnt transmit. it can only be controlled externally, but by any controller number (0-127). the only other way to record cc's would be to hook up a controler, with (knobs/sliderz) and go thru the mpc, then you can record the shiz to its seq.

PS i hate massive avatars
