EB-16 question.

I know the eb-16 fx card is a 4-bus card, does this mean that you can only have 4 diferent setting fx to assign to the pads you want? Im wondering if you can do more than 4 fx with different parameters, like 8 different reverbs assigned to 8 different sounds. My doubt is if 4 bus mean a just a limit of 4 fx per sound or does it mean a maxium total of 4 different fx to assign to the wanted sounds. thx in advance.

i know you cant have 8 different reverbs going at the same time. it probably means you can have 4 mono or 2 stereo effects at one time. I dont have the eb16 so I dont know for sure.

think of it like this Each efx bus is a "House" there are 2 multi fx and 2 reverb only. ie multi is reverb, flange, filter etc.

ok, you can invite as many people into the "house" as you want IE you can assign all the pads to multi efx house #1 if you want, or 1/2 to house 1 and 1/2 to house 2, or 1/4 to house 1 and 1/4 to house 2 and 1 pad to house 3 and the rest to house 4 etc.
but you cannot have more then 4 houses IE only 4 unique efx settings can be used, 2 unique multi, and 2 unique reverbs.

thats about the size of it, the benefit is its totally integrated into the mpc and its gonna be hard to come by for a decent 4 bus efx unti for the COST that that eb 16 is, like what 150 bux used? thats the cost of a 1 bus alesis crap efx unit.

There's 2 dedicated reverbs and two multieffects. The two multis can have up to 5 effects joined together (each includes an additional reverb).

You can have all 4 'blocks' going off at once, and two of those blocks can contain up to 5 effects joined together, but you cant separate these 5 effects out and share them among loads of samples.

There you go, clear as mud. Basically, it's like have 4 dedicated effect units wired into one.
