Sequencing & note variation help

when i sequence some drums and play them back they are always out of time at first i thought this was just me exercising bad rhythm but when i used the mpc to record drums live into my daw i realized that wasn't the problem, can anyone help me with this. Also can anyone tell me how to use the note variation slider i looked up some instructions before but cant seem to get it to work, thanks.

Do you have quantize (T.C.) on? if so, turn it off and see if it sounds better. Not sure about the slider though, sorry I couldn't help with that.

to get to the note variation screen - shift+assign button (directly underneath the shift button, in the note variation box)

default - will be highlighted on assign note. hit the pad you want to assign and the pad# and sound name will come up. parameters - you can change tuning, filter, decay etc... this kinda acts as 16 levels, but now the effect is on the NV sliver instead of divided onto the pads.

Yeah thanks guys all is well now, the sequencing problem doesn't seem to exist now for some reason even though i didn't do anything, thanks anyway. Thanks mumkai it works perfectly, thought i had a broken slider for bit then.
