Installed 8 Output Now Screen Hangs!! Detecting Memory

Hello guys I'm new but been in the game of music production about 30 years.
The Problem...
OK so I installed a 8 out board then yesterday when I was loading up from external zip drive I noticed that it was staying on detecting memory for a about 30 seconds then started loading my sounds then that stopped.

I believe I could have a bad scsi cable but came here to see whats going or maybe someone had a similar issue. I did search and came up with no answers from past posts. I checked the board everything seems in place no lose connections but I did leave the floppy drive unconnected. I know that the board comes from a S2000 and I did have a IT guy from work change the ribbon to extend and every worked fine!
I'm just puzzled about whats going on! Any help would welcomed big time!

i have the same problem with my mpc 4000.only when i instal the output board.

unplug the ram as well.might be faulty.good luckk

Thanks guys! I got home and took everything out and checked all cables and connections and she's just stuck now with detecting memory! I must say the last two weeks I was on a roll making some heat! Now gonna take a break and see what happens!

I'd check if your autoload got turned on... unplug your scsi too.

unplug the 8 board.

Its scsi related. the output board shouldnt f with anything like that, unless its bad, which would mean it wouldn't freeze up once you unplug it.

I'm running 1.14 gonna see if I can find a floppy one and may reinstall the os!

I searched the net all day and can't find nothing about this type of problem could just be something funky going on I hope so!
And once again thanks for all advice to help me really means alot to me and anything I can do for any body holla back!

Yo every homie gets a round on me!

After a thorough inspection I narrowed it down to the 34 pin floppy ribbon that my jobs IT guy replaced or the board I got for a to good to be true price on eBay is plucked up and it needs to be checked out by a service center for what I paid for I'll throw a few $$ in it maybe!!!

Glad I got my baby working your help in the matter was greatly appreciated!
