Poly, Mono, Note Off

Hi,
I just get my MPC 2000 XL, i used to make beats with MPC 1000, and there is a parameter that i had in MPC 1000 which i don't find in the 2000 XL, maybe you could help me:

When i press a pad (PAD 1), i want my whole sample to play, but if i press another pad (PAD 2) just after, i want my first sample (PAD 1) to cut just at the moment i pressed PAD 2, and the other sample, on PAD 2 to play and stop when I hit another pad etc.

On the MPC 1000, i had to parameter "MONO" in the Program mode, but on 2000 xl, i can't find it, if i switch all my samples in mono, it still play the whole sample, even if i pressed another pad after. The Note off mode isn't what i need too.

I hope someone can tell me how to find this parameter if it is possible on 2000 XL
