Can't exit from folders on CF card

Sometimes when I'm a few subfolders deep on my CF card, the MPC doesn't let me exit the subfolders or even navigate between the subfolders at the same "level". The cursor moves fine, but it just doesn't let me exit. I end up having to eject the CF card. Any ideas what could be the cause of this? I'm using 1.20 on a 2000XL.

yeah had the same expirience with both ATAPI Zip & ATAPI CF. I'm not sure but I think it's got something to do with the ATAPI controller. Few weeks ago I installed an ATAPI CF reader pcb internally (call it harddrive!) and an internal SCSI Zip in the 3,5" bay. Can't remember that it occured on Zip yet. Do you have a ATAPI CF reader or a SCSI one?

Next time try cancel, F1 LOAD, Open Window. This helped me out to get back to root level and I was able to navigate again without ejecting media. pz

Mine is ATAPI. Although I don't recall having this problem with my old ATAPI Zip drive.

Thanks for the tip! It works better than having to always eject the damn thing.
