When I maxed mines out, the slots show one empty, one with a 32meg chip. Maybe you can;t use both with 16 chips. Just guessing dog.

Anyone?

Yea a few people on the boards has this problem before... Might be the memory sticks...

You said they are two 16's correct... The memory slots can't handle anything, but 16's...

"The memory slots can't handle anything, but 16's.."

Not correct. The 2000 uses 4, 8 or 16 meg sticks. The XL can use 16 or 32 meg sticks.

I've used 1x32 stick and at different times 2x16 sticks and lesser MB sticks and have not had any problems in my 2kxl. Like 3k said, incompatible sticks most likely (dirty sticks)..
