I am having problems sampling vocals from a cd HELP!!!!!!!

I am trying to sample vocals off of a cd and I have the record gain to the max and also the volume on the cd player to ther max, But when I record the sampled vocals into the mpc they are still very low and plus there is a annoying hum in it.

Should I run the sample through my digi002 to boost the signal and then record it into my mpc or if not what should I do?

Yes, just sounds like your connection is bad. Try going straight from the CD player's stereo outs into the MPC's stereo ins. Don't use a headphone output from your amplifier. You will need some adaptor to go from 1/4 inch jacks to RCA phono.

.sample in MONO with a MALE rca to 1/4" male. You can always copy it once you track it, then assign L & R (pan) on your external or virtual mixer

.if you are using a Y cable that has 2 rca's on one side to single 1/4, only use 1 rca from the source.( try to find which channel has the stronger signal, usually it's R ( red ) and R should always be red. But in some cases L could be stronger/cleaner

.you can use an insert cable ( Y ), just only push the 1/4" 1 click. that's ghetto mono, and again sample with only 1 rca coming from the source ( if it's analog or battery powered )
