mpc 2000

hey y'all im about to buy a mpc this month and im hopin' i can get some tips from you guys .. is it hard to use ? i tried to make beats on fl studio but it's very hard on there .. is this harder ? im dreaming to be a producer and i know a lot of rappers who are whilling to pay for the right beats .. H back

it is easy, however if you found FL studio was hard.... I dont have faith that this will work out for you. Although maybe they workflow and interface of the 2000 will work for you.

read the manual is the best tip you can receive, and the second best tip is... use the search feature here before asking questions.

The 2000 is a great machine.

Get the mpc first then mess around with it for a week or so and you'll be on your way to being a superstar

Definately get the tutorial on the lower right hand corner of this site.
Just like you, I worked on fl, from v4.52, all the way up to the current version (v9).
FL is a great program, but the sequencer is wack to me.
Now I mainly use FL for recording vocals, and effects/tracking.
Everything in that tut is hands on, so you're not boring yourself dizzy reading page after page.
They also give you all the sounds you need to do the lessons, and the way it's set up, if you follow instructions just right, you'll have a whole disk of working .pgm's and sounds to use on your own when you're finished.
Like you, I never touched an mpc before I got one, and by the time I got to page 69 of the tut, I made my first beat on the mpc, which was kind of banging.
I haven't looked back since.
I'm in the process of doing my 3rd album, and I can't wait to drop those fresh mpc tracks.
Don't get me wrong, FL is an awesome program.
It will take just about any plugin you stick in.
You can make some bangers on FL, and even make tracks people would think you did on an mpc, but it will NEVER sound just LIKE an mpc track, or any beat machine track for that matter.
I used to record FL tracks to 1/4" tape, or 4 track cassette.
I always got the sound close, but not the swing.
IMHO, that's the best 39.99 you'll ever spend, besides what you pay for the machine!
