i bought a second mpc 2k classic that wasnt booting the OS... it has an internal zip 100 on and internal SCSI setup with a 25 pin female SCSI soldered to the main board and sealed plugged to an adapter to a 50 pin IDE cable to connect the zip100... when i power up it scan the SCSI ID's and stops at 5 where it recognizes the zip drive but doesnt boot up.. if i take the disk out it will cycle thru and say "Insert Boot Disk" when i put it in it does nothing.. the disk is formatted from another 2k classic and it booted that machine perfectlly.. anyone think its the SCSI fuse? if so where do i get one? i tried to reconnect a floppy drive but the cable has been removed from the main board so thats not an option unless i find and modify a cable.... someone whos experienced this with and internal SCSI setup please give me your 2 cents...

hmm, does the scsi device have it's terminator attached? and also, you mentioned your have it on scsi ID 5 right? (not on scsi ID 6)

yeah theres jumpers for the scsi id and for termination on and off... i have the termination on and scsi id at 5 im aware that 6 is the id the mpc sends on...

that was my next guess to try an external zip drive and see what happens i guess if the external drive doesnt work either then ill know if i have a different issue... thanks guys
