Repair info, MPC2000 audio input.

Hello, I have an mpc2000 and I believe I may have a short in the audio input jack as when I sample I can only get left or right channel individually not together. I am sampling in mono so that is why i believe it is the jack. Is there any way to replace the jack or does anybody have any info or experience with this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

sounds strange cuz if it was the jack it woudnt make sense if they both work but not at the same time... maybe check your cables idk ive had a 2000 & 2000xl and never sampled in stereo just cuz i find it easier to trck with the 8outs in mono and it saves sample time...

maybe you've plugged a stereo jack into one of inputs? I can't imagine any other reason of your problem

if you did, just buy two rca-mono jack 6,3 mm crosses and just combine them with rca-rca (rca plugs on both sides) wire. then plug this wire to input in your mpc and to output if your sound's resource. I hope it'll help.

Thanks for the assistance. I hadn't done a overhaul of cords in about a year so hopefully that's it.

Might also be a short on the other piece of gear, not the MPC.

On the other hand, what you are describing is completely normal...when you sample in MONO, you have to choose which input to use, you don't get a mix of both.
