make sure the sample is 16bit wave, and try and make sure the name of the wave file is less then 8 characters long (8 letters)

.....so i tried again with a different floppy, i loaded the same WAV sample onto it from my computer, put it into the mpc and this time it said File= _*,0 (there were multiple files like this with random characters) AND again it said TYPE=????
i choose DO IT for one of those random character files and it said UNKNOWN FILE TYPE
the weird thing is that when i put the floppy into my computer i only see that one sample file and when i put it into my mpc i see a bunch of weird files

how can i ensure its 16bit WAV?
and do you recomend any computer software that is best for making samples that will work on the mpc

honestly i suggest using the record function on your mpc... it is a sampler and it samples. then format the floppy in the mpc and save the samples internally.

^^+1

But the "problem you have is known. I never transfer samples from pc so I forgot what its really about. As far as I remeber its something about formatting the floppy disk in the MPC first before you put samples from PC on it.

Also PCs sometimes write on the boot sector and the MPC can't recognize this disk anymore. There is a software tool that will fix that but I cant remember the name but I think the "MPC Editor" can fix it too.
