I'm sorry if this is in another thread, but I was unable to find any info on this topic. I've been using the same San Disk 1g SD card with no problems until yesterday. I completed this beat, and saved ALL PGM's with .wav's. In the root folder as displayed on the mpc, the main audio file I sampled was named "kirkland" and all the chops duplicated from that were named appropriately... "kirkland1", "kirkland2"... and so forth. I had about 30 of them. When viewing the file names on the SD card via the MPC, the file names are all correct. Though, when I now view the files on my laptop, all the chops are named simply, "kirkland" and it's the same duplicate file. They are all identical copies of the main sample, yet the small chops that are single 8th notes, display that they are 57kb in size, yet when played, they are infact the same as the 2,000kb sample. Ive reformated the card and remade the whole whole beat from scratch, the names are correct in the akai's ram and on the SD card when view through the akai, but my pc has a problem with 30 files named the same thing once it receives the data. Feel like i'm missing something basic here. i don't know. Any thoughts would help. Thanks.
