zone edit function

hey, having big issues with zone function when trimming samples. Problem is that when i'm trimming i cant end a sample later than the next zones start point. Any way to do this without going and changing start point of all later samples? Doing it that way is a real pain so thanks for any help people, peace

not in zone chopping... but you can set the attack/decay of the chop (kinda)


why would you need to do this?


if you really need to, use the slider and use "extract" on each chop.

thanks for the reply im new to mpcs but il try familiarize myself with the "extract" function u mentioned, im trying to chop a sample into beats at each snare/kick hit if you can help envelope settings zoot really help much man, btw im familiar with studio and production terms but a bit of an mpc noob so i may not be finding things straight away thanks

I take a full break...

hold shift and move slider... set start and end point (roughly, not exact... you can trim exact later in each chop [which will leave you more at the end like you want])

hit edit.


roll cursor to extract to new sound


execute...

back to main break...

second hit


repeat.


then assign,

then go back and tighten up your start points.

if you got your zones adjusted, just do Edit -> Slice Sound. in that screen there's a parameter End Margin which is the amount of overlap samples. isn't that what you're looking for?
