The beats format is .ALL ?

I just made my first beat, therefore i saved all Sequences, Songs, Sounds and Programs. I know that this is a noobish question, but why does the MPC save the beat as .ALL ? There is no converter for this format. How can I listen to my beat now?

Dont flame please. I have seriously used the search function but I did not find anything.

You play the beat by loading the .ALL file on your mpc...of course you also have to load the PGM or APS file.

What else are you trying to play the beat on?

Most likely he tried to play it from the computer.

You have to record the mpc from it's outputs
and cant transfer the ''song'' via floppy, CF card or other means of electronic storage

The beat is a midi sequence not an recorded audio loop. The sequence and sounds make up the beat. The program is just akai way of organizing the note numbers, pads and sounds. You should be able to load the midi sequence into a daw, as well as the sounds (if they are wav files) I couldn't tell you exactly how but I'm sure it can be done over midi.

I mean you can send the sequence over midi, not the sounds.

The "ALL." File is just that "all" the other files. Like a folder kind of

APS = All Programs and Sounds = Samples and their mapping on pads
ALL = All Sequences and Songs = The info how the samples are put together to a sequence and song = MIDI data

2 Ways of playing the sequences (or song):

1. (play on the MPC): Load APS and ALL into the MPC and hit play
2. (play on PC): Load the ALL file into the MPC, save this as MID, import the MID (MIDIFILE) into a Sequencer Software on PC. Load the sounds into a softwaresampler and try to adjust all the settings of each sample to come as close to the MPC program settings as you can. Hit play.

When you want to go the second way there HAS TO BE a reason. I guess you dont really have such a reason as you said you're new to this. So I recommend to play your songs on the MPC. IF you want to get the audio on the PC you'll need to record the MPC OUT to your PC.
