Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Ares 12 Sat May 24, 2003 1:01 am
My friend just got an MPC2000XL and he said that you don't have to load the OS disk everytime you turn the machine on, but everytime he turns it on, it asks to load it. Is there something you have to do to keep it in memory? Or is he incorrect?

Thanks,

The OS is stored in the internal Flash - if it's asking for the OS disk this means that the previous OS install screwed up. Just reinstall the OS again and all will be fine.

Hmm, we downloaded the 1.14 OS from Akaipro.com, loaded it, and when we turned on the machine again it said "Please Insert OS Disk !". There's nothing you have to do to keep it in internal flash?

Hmmm thanks for your help.

If anyone has OS Disk Version 1.00 can you please email it to me. I think it will solve the problem because that's the disk it asks for.

did you save it to the flash ram?

check the manual if you don't know the procedure.
