Blank screeen with all leds on

I lent my working mpc 2K classic to a friend who is having a problem with his.He connected an external scsi(not Iomega...not sure which brand) to my 2k classic which was booting from floppy and now I have the same problem as he does Blank screeen with all leds on when the power is switched on.I've searched the forum for the same problem and I have followed the advice ....disconnecting the floppy drive...checking the ribbon cables....taking out memory...still the same thing ! Help!!!!

Scsi fuse maybe?

is it possible he held down shift and turned the jog wheel all the way to the left?

let me know when you find the anwser. i was givin an mpc 2000xl in pieces. when i put it back together and powered it on it has the same problem you speak of.

I've had this happen to me while installing a CF reader into my 2000XL. In my case, inverting the ribbon cable on the reader end brought the screen back.

We swapped a cpu board from another 2k classic just to check and the the display finally came on! Just have to narrow down which component is causing the problem.....SCSI fuse maybe?

It could be some wiring issue. When the MPC light up all the LEDs, it is waiting for connected device to respond (I think.)
Here's what I would do:

Disconnect ALL the floppy drive & SCSI devices, so that no device is connected to the MPC, then find out whether the MPC-2000 classic would display "Insert OS disk" error. If it does, I think your MPC-2000 classic is most likely fine.

Check internal power connectors, find out whether all the MOLEX connecters are in good condition. Use multimeter to check voltage.
