will the akai s950 8 out board fit the MPC 2000 XL?

I have a friend that has the Akai s950 and was wondering if I bought it from him, would I be able to A.) pull the 8 out board and B.) use it in my MPC 2000 XL?

Ive searched and found no info on this.

the board in the s900 didn't, i tried it as i had a dead s900

i assume the board in the s950 is the same

yea I heard the same, unfortunately my buddy doesn't have that one..

Im prob better off just buying the separate 8 out expansion card.

For the record the S900 and S950 eight output boards will not work in a MPC 2000 or 2000xl.
The 8-outs from a S2000 or a S3000xl will.

If I take the 8-outs from a S2000 to put in my MPC2000:

1) will it fit the MPC properly or do you have to do any modifications?

2) will I still be able to use the S2000 or does it not function properly without the 8-outs?

1) AFAIK you'll need a mounting plate for the MPC2000. But I also think this is easy to build by yourself if you have a little bit experience in DIY and good tools.

2) It should work properly but I dont know how the s2000 handle programs that was saved with "8outs settings". I guess it will simply route all samples to the stereo out.
