i am new to the mpc 2000xl i jumped over from reason 4.0 wanting to try something different. i been researching how to load samples into the mpc 2000xl and havnet been having any luck so it would be very helpful if you guys can tell me the easiest way to load sound into the mpc 2000xl and please tell me the difference between the floppy and a zip drive and which drive the mpc come with and why i would need to change it because every where i look and read everyone is saying to get the cf drive or zip drive. what store can i buy the sampled sounds already on zips and the cf drive and or zip drive thank you much.

the mpc is a sampler.... that means you use it to record samples.

there is a record input on the back... you plug stuff into it and record those things.




CF card > zip > floppy ... use the search function or at least look in the 2000/2000xl section where you posted this thread for topics relating to card readers.

you dont HAVE to sample...you could just load sounds from your computer on to it but then that would defeat the purpose if you did ONLY that and never sampled. And the reason to upgrade is because the floppys can only hold very little memory. So youll have a lot of floppys lying around after time. thats why everyone says upgrade to CF card because it holds more. Zip drive is in between floppy and CF storage data wise.
