Which CF adapter did you purchase? Do you have a link to it?

idk to be exact, i use the sd cards. but did you format the card with the mpc? The 2kxl is pretty picky about the SD cards, i have several and it only like's 2 of them. tho i haven't had problems with the sandisks. 1g i'd think you'd be good.

As I explained in another post, when you get the "no floppy" message, your problem is one of these:

1. The CF adapter is not compatible with the MPC2000XL

2. A bad cable situation (ie. installed backwards or the cable is damaged)

3. Your CF card is incompatible with the CF adapter

You can rule out problem 1, as we know that MPCStuff wouldn't sell an incompatible CF adapter. As for problem 2, are you sure that you installed the cable as shown in the instructions? The IDE cable should be keyed on both ends so that you cannot plug it in wrong but I'm not sure if MPCStuff includes a keyed cable. And as for problem 3, did you get the CF card from MPCStuff.com? If so, then you can be sure it is compatible.

Have you asked MPCStuff.com for assistance? That might be a good idea, since you bought one of their solutions.

i had this message also. the card is probably fake. i bought that same card and got the same message. through a bunch of frustrations i finally contacted mpcstuff and the guy send me an email showing how the card was fake. if the card is fake it will also give the message you are getting. been there and had that problem. sucks. now i cant seem to purchase a card that works. so pissed

i installed it corrent like its in the manual, the card i didnt buy from mpcstuff but its the same one they sell ....so it can really be fake or not good if its not from mpcstuff? :(

the adapter is the one from mpc stuff : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

it just seems to me to be wired that i got the same card that they sell and its not working coze its not mpcstuff card....

ZoL can you send me that email that mpcstuff sent you? to : [email protected]

according to the picture mpcstuff sent to me a real 1gb sandisk has a picture of a trashcan being crossed out on the back and white text on the bottom of the card on the black. the fake card has no trashcan on the back and no writing on the bottom edge of the card.

I have a bunch of Sandisk CF cards here, with different capacities, and all of them have these things printed on the right side of the rear label (top to bottom):

CF rectangular logo with "CompactFlash tm" printed below it
Big "C E" approved logo
Crossed-out Trashcan (meaning you should not throw these away)
A thick black bar about 1cm in width

I'd be curious to see what the back of your Sandisk CF card looks like. I know that there has historically been a big problem with counterfeit Sandisk media and possibly you ran into some of that. I was always careful never to buy any Sandisk media for resale from eBay but instead only from reputable media vendors like B&H Photo or NewEgg.

yeah thats totally fake. thats why it is not working. it should have white print in the bottom edge and a giant crossed out trashcan on the back

I also have the same driver when i bought mine. When i bought my mpc, it came with a Lexar 2gb platinum II 80x CF memory card. I was wondering if this will work, because i also get the "no floppy disk" message on my mpc. Please help. Thanks
