It should work in the 2000 as well. Its Mainly the OS that allows it to work, as long as you upgrade your mpc 2000/2000xl to the 1.20 os youll be fine.

Except 1.20 os is for MPC2kxl only ;]

Though I cannot comment on if this would work in a 2000...but I think no since it doesn't do ATAPI.

I'm using OS 1.72, this will not work. The only way to get a card reader in a classic is to solder a ribbon cable to the circuit board where the 25 pin SCSI port connects or to reroute the external SCSI port back inside the case and convert it to IDE.
