It is my current understanding that Avid only allows for its models/brands of Audio Interfaces/Midi Interfaces to run with pro-tools

Not true anymore. With new protools you can use any hardware.

you sure about that?

Because I just got the latest LE edition from a comrade and I can tell you that it does NOT even load into Pro-tools and comes up with a error along the lines of "Hardwire not present, please connect and press retry"

So I do not think pro-tools works with ANY hardware.

I may be wrong, but as of last night........i was still with a sad face lmao.

yes i'm sure. that's why i left out anything saying, 'im not sure'.

with the latest protools you can use any hardware you want...where you been brother? not exactly 'news' as it happened late last year.

if i could ask a favor, do a little research yourself before trying to correct somebody else. it just fills the forum with more misinformation...and...just jokes...but you're on a roll with that homey ;]

thanks.

lol, man im new to all this still. i was given PT 8 LE by a comrade, he slid me a M-Audio Quick Track (or) Fast Track Box and when i loaded up PT it get's to the "Please connect device" screen, i connect it, hit retry and the same error message pop's back up.

money tight right now, so I can't purchase the gear and software i want. I didn't know Avid allowed for any device to be used.

but thank you (and you too Aries)

and If i put out misinformation, it's not intentional, it's my misunderstanding of what i've read. and i'll be first to admit if im wrong, i have absolutely no shame in doing that.

it's ok Ronin, thanks for being cool.

you could be doing a lot worse...like maybe creating a new account using a new name to ask the same question you've already asked twice, in the same ignorant way, and still been given the correct answer for...

The link I provided in the first reply to your original thread (http://mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=142180), even without knowing what you wanted, has everything you need to know in it.
What is the problem? And who is not reading?

What is so wrong with link I provided, that you feel you have to ask the question a third time, and even go so far as to create a new account name and a new thread to try and fool the community?

Here it is again:
