serial number mistery

iis there some hidden mistery behind the 2k xl serial numbers?
like some are "better" built or "tighter"...
friend of mine told me about fender guitars and their serial numbers.
do mpc users have something like that?

89925-000010 would be August 99, USA (25), 10th machine.

For the months, A=oct, B=nov, C=dec.

I have an mpc 2000xl from nov 2000. number 315. I want to know how many 2000xls were produced out of curiosity... My MPC has the old AKAI font too. I wonder if they started changing the converters at some point to make them cheaper to manufacture. Just curious. I'm happy with my machine, I think I got a good one!

I recently got a 2000xl se2, ill check the serial later today, its an European model anyway.
