Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey everyone, I am having a strange issue with my mpc 2000xl and my Korg X50 keyboard. I have a midi out going from the mpc into the midi in of the keyboard, and also vice versa, a midi out going from the keyboard to the midi in of the mpc. Here is the issue. Lets say I have 3 tracks ive laid down on my mpc, kick, snare and hi hat. On my 4th track I want to lay down a bass line using the sounds from the keyboard. I start messing around with the sounds and I dont like the selected bass. So I change the program on the keyboard. The second I change the program on the keyboard, the drum program I had setup on the MPC with my samples changes and stops playing. I have to reload the drum program again.

Basically everytime I change the program on the keyboard, it somehow sends a message to the mpc and changes the drum program on the mpc which has my samples on it, so then I have to go into the program page and select it again, its very annoying. I took out the midi cable coming out of the keyboard into the mpc and it stopped the problem. But the point is I need it wired that way.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on or has anyone ever encountered the same issue? Please let me know if this isnt making sense.

Thank you.

You'll want to set up the DRUM holders to ignore program changes.

You can go to Program->DRUM holder (1,2,3 or 4)->DRUM->Set 'Program Change' to Ignore

Set all 4 drum holders like this. If you wanna keep the settings like this I believe they're saved with the All seq/song file. Load up some startup settings.
