Hey all, this post was in a different thread regarding another topic, but I think it should be categorized in the technical side of things for the 2000XL rather than where it was. Basically, the relationship between my MPC and me is going through a little speedbump right now. I'm a little nervous because today I noticed that a screw in the bottom fell out. I bought it on eBay a couple months ago, never had a problem with it, made a move to a new apartment, and noticed the screw is missing. I found the screw, but now the screw is not fitting, which explains why it fell out in the first place. I went to the hardware store, bought a couple new ones of the same measurement, but there's just always going to be one screw missing on the bottom of the machine, I think, because neither the original nor the new ones fit.
Here's where it gets bad. After fiddling around with the new screws and trying to mix and match, I tried to turn the machine on again. It works, the screen lights up, but the main screen does not appear. In fact, no words appear at all. It is just a blank screen. The only other light working on the machine is the pad bank "A" light. When I press any of the other buttons nothing works. None of the pad banks, recording, nothing. What could I have possibly done with those screws to cause that problem? I hadn't even opened the machine on the bottom or messed with the interior. Any suggestions on the source of the problem? Also, does anyone recommend the product that I can buy to upgrade my memory or where to find it at? I figure I'm going to have to take a look at the inside regardless, so I might as well try upgrading to 32MB.
