Which MPC2K classic to get?

Hello all,

I have a chance at 2 classic Mpc2000s at my local pawn shop. One has no SCSI, but is $400. For $460 I can get one with SCSI. My question is more or less asking if it's possible to add SCSI port later if I did decide to get the cheaper one(or somebody beats me to the punch on the $460 mpc). I tried looking at all the parts you can get at mpc-stuff.com, but I didn't see the SCSI port option. So, what do you all suggest if I ended up with the cheaper one? I can see the sense in having the more expensive one, but would want to not hate myself for ending up with a mpc I could never use a hd/flash option, and find no way of adding it either.

what you mean with no SCSI? all legacy mpcs has SCSI port

I second that. I bought MPC-2000 classic first, but I got so frustrated with MPC-2000 classic's poor file support; there is no file directory support, and non-swappable IDE CF reader cannot be connected, since it doesn't have IDE port.
Functionality wise, other than data management, MPC-2000 classic is alright, but I'm happy with moving on to MPC-2000XL, I don't miss 2000 classic. To be fair, 2000 classic's job wheel is great though, as I'll have to replace my rotary encoder soon...

I have the classic and the XL, what I don't like about the classic is that it is very hard to chop samples, I like to chop my samples manually not with the auto chop but I use the auto chop in the XL to put the marks so then I just need to adjust the marks where I need them... it makes the work easier... besides that I love my 2K classic... it looks great and I really enjoy using floppies and the limitations of that...
