personally i think the ones with zip are a rip off....the kit only cost $120 and they charge about $300 with it already in there....do yourself somegood and get the studio version w/o the zip and buy the zip kit with it

I bought the base model for about $1100. Then I bought a 100mb external zip off ebay for $37 including shipping. So now I got a floppy drive and a zip drive. Oh yeah, I just bought an internal 100mb zipdrive for my computer for $70. So I got both drives covered on my MPC and my computer cheaper than you can buy the base model with just a zip.

if your just now starting to use a MPC friendly advice : your going to get upset that everybody else has a machine or some computer based midi controller that is able to have millions of "PREDUG OR FORMATTED SAMPLES" having somebody do the dirty work for you...

just spend the extra money and get a fully blown MPC 2gxl if you want to sample and do it all in house... because later when you want the extras your gonna have to open her up and play with chords and all that (dont know what your doing you could break something)

but dont waste time with a zip unless you have 2 or 3 on back up

just get a hot swappable cf reader
