When i record a sequence do i have to save it with all the sounds? also when i chop a sound using the zones how do i assign each zone to a different pad?

You don't have to but you'll probably want to, page 156-159.

In the Program assign screen, page 113-117.

You might wanna check out page 108 as well for more info on the slice function.

To answer your first Question...yes.And as far as assignin' a zone to a pad when you get the section and hit edit.Enter the name and make sure you hit enter.Go to assign.Shift and 6 and hit params.Hit the pad you want that sound on and then scroll through until you get to the sound name.

another question i have the 8 outs on my mpc and it has the digital in's too i tried connecting a 1/8th to rca from my computer to my mpc and it was not getting any signal does anybody know why this happened?or am i doing it right?

the line out on your pc is not digital, you need a spdif output from your pc to use the spdif input on the MPC.

ahhh i see so how can i work around this?

By cooocooo1 Sat Oct 16, 2004 11:56 pm
You can use a 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch cable or Y cable or just get a female rca to male 1/4 inch adapter, you'll want to plug that into the analog inputs on the MPC, not the digital input. If you go with just a single cable instead of a Y cable make sure you have the correct channel selected in the sample screen.
